Week#2 – 07 April 2013

Hers is a second of week to travelling to Ayutthaya and an keeping you an update .Today is very hot with almost almost 40°C on this weekend (On April ,2013) , In fact I having set up the target is about 4 places to visit a week but this week is terrible , The temperature is  too high , So this week I just have three places for
you , sorry about that Again I left from
My home Samutprakarn province about 11.00 am and reached Ayutthaya at 12.00 am. So what I gonna
do,  I having lunch first to top up my energy , I have order 2 noodles and one more main dish and including COCA COLA , I paid about 150 Thai Baht. It is so CHEAP
Below are where we shall go today
1.     WAT Thammaikarat ; Highly recommend
2.     WAT Ratchaburana ; Highly recommend
3.     WAT Maha-that ; Highly recommend

First Place –WAT Thammikarat

Just look simple when I saw around of WAT but it so amazing when I go through on this holy land , Its making me say WOOW!!! , I love this WAT suddenlyThis WAT Thammikarat is suspected to be older than the “ Ayutthaya Era “ , it was located on the north edge of the PRAH RAM Park in the center of the town . It has couple things claims

One , It was the location of one most beautiful big Buddha head in front of the entrance of temple . The original head of Buddha was moved to Chao Sam PhraYa museum for keeping

Two, it has amazing ruins of big temple and including big black Buddha on the center of the ruins temple

Last , It was the location of one most beautiful and big white Buddha
I have spend almost 2 hours for walked around and took the picture , I can’t imagined that how they build it on 400 years ago , it is so beautiful and mysterious place
Open – close ; 8.30am – 04.30pm

Second Place – WAT Rathchaburana

Wat Ratchaburana is located on Historical park , The temple of the royal restoration, was constructed in the 15th century by king Borom Ratchathirat II as a memorial to his two elder brothers , who died in a power struggle following the reign of their father
The surviving brother, King Ratchatirat II was the seventh King of Ayutthaya
The design of the temple is derived from the Khmer Prasat of earlier period but is loftier with a higher base and a taller central tower
This temple is quite and ordinary anyway MUST come and visit the holy ruins here
Open – closed ; 08.30 – 04.30pm

Last Place –WAT Maha-that

Regarding to tradition,WAT Maha-that was built in 1384 by King Ratchatirat to relic of house of Buddha, but it is more likely it was build dring the reign of King Boromaraja
Wat Maha-That is could be the biggest of ruins in Ayutthaya park and it has amazing Buddha-Head is in the THREE TRUNK

The temple's prang, at 46 m (150 ft) high, is one of the old city's most impressive edifices. With its picturesquely ruined stupas, Wat Mahathat is a great place to be at sunset. Scattered around the temple are some important remains of variously shaped prangs and chedis, in particular an octagonal chedi with a truncated spire in the Ceylonese style. Nearby, the head of a still much-revered statue of the Buddha lies on the ground. stupas surrounded by low laterite walls and rows of headless Buddhas.

Open – closed ; 08.39 – 04.30pm
